About Annie Dash Studios

Welcome! I’m Annie, a trained fine artist, illustrator, and photographer with a bachelor’s degree in visual arts and over 20 years of experience creating art and photography. I’d be proud to be a guide for you and your family as we work together to create a one-of-kind, custom work of art for your home.

I’m wife to Andrew and mom to five boys who are our greatest earthly blessings. When I’m not caring for my family, I can be found painting or drawing, taking reference photos for my artwork, cooking gluten-and-dairy-free food due to food allergies, singing classical music, power walking, reading, or writing.

I completed this self-portrait in high school, based on a photograph from my mentor and dear friend, Rosemary Carroll of Studio Eight. This piece showed me how creating art from high-quality reference photos drastically improved my work and I was inspired to study photography in college from this experience.

Creating art has been a lifelong passion of mine and I spent most of my childhood and teen years drawing and painting for hours a day. In high school, I received scholarships to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art summer youth program, then received a bachelor of art degree in visual arts from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where I studied fine art drawing, portraiture, black and white film photography and darkroom development, printmaking, graphic design, art history and more.

I got my start in photography from a desire to create my own reference photos to improve my art work and began offering portrait and wedding photography services in college during the early 2000’s. I went on to open my own photography business, Annie Dash Photography, in 2013 and have continually taken workshops and classes to further my education through the years. In 2020, I created Annie Dash Studios, LLC as I widened my professional services from photography to fine art. I’m now proud to use my photography skills to create premium reference photos for my artwork, including portrait photography that will be used in commissioned portrait paintings.

I believe strongly in creating heirloom-quality works of art that are made to be passed down from generation to generation. I have a Master’s Degree in Library Science, which trained me in the importance of creating materials that are made to endure the test of time. I spent many years working in support of NASA, and have received awards for my outstanding customer service skills. Customer service remains of the highest importance to me and I’d be delighted to take care of you and your family.
