I’ve been married to my beloved husband, Andrew, for 19 years, and together we have five precious boys.
I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. I started drawing and painting as a little girl, and I was blessed with parents who encouraged my artistic dreams from the very beginning.
In middle school, I had the opportunity to study with an amazing private art teacher who introduced me to classical art skills at a young age. During high school, I was fortunate to receive scholarships to study at a prestigious art school during the summers, where I continued to grow as an artist.
These photos are from my senior art display at the end of high school—a little glimpse of where this journey began.
I went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts, studying drawing, painting, photography, art history, printmaking, and much more. The painting you see below was created during college, from a photograph Andrew—my future husband—took. ❤️
But art, for me, has never been just about making beautiful things.
I believe art is a way of paying attention.
It is a way of noticing the beauty, wonder, and goodness that surround us every day.
My faith is at the heart of my creative life. I believe God is the true Master Artist, and when I create, I hope to honor His creation and reflect a little of the beauty He has given us.
And visual art isn't my only creative language. I'm also a classically trained mezzo-soprano—I studied voice for 22 years and now sing as a cantor at church. I've spent many years acting, and I love to write, too.
Creativity has woven its way through nearly every part of my life.
And these days, I want my art to be an invitation:
Slow down.
Notice the beautiful things.
Savor this life.
Be grateful for the ordinary moments.
Make something.
And don't be afraid to begin.
There is so much beauty in this world, and I believe it is ours to enjoy.
