About Annie Dash Studios

Welcome—I’m Annie, a fine artist, illustrator, and photographer with over 25 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in visual arts. I work with families to create one-of-a-kind, heirloom portraits that are designed to be cherished for generations.

My approach to portraiture is shaped by my lifelong dedication to fine art. I began drawing and painting as a child and continued through my formal training, studying portraiture, painting, and film photography in college. Early on, I discovered how transformative high-quality reference photography could be in creating meaningful, lifelike artwork—an insight that continues to shape my work today.

Photography and painting are not separate disciplines in my process, but deeply connected. I use photography with intention—both to create beautiful finished portraits and to serve as the foundation for custom fine art pieces. This allows me to offer a truly unique experience: portraits that begin with a thoughtfully guided session and can become timeless works of art.

I am especially drawn to creating portraits that reflect the dignity, beauty, and individuality of each person—whether for a child’s milestone, a family legacy piece, or a commissioned painting.

Outside of the studio, I’m a wife to my husband Andrew and a mother to five boys, who are my greatest joy and daily inspiration. My work is deeply rooted in family and faith, and in the belief that the moments we preserve today become the treasures of tomorrow.

I completed this self-portrait in high school, based on a photograph from my mentor, Rosemary Carroll. This piece showed me how creating art from high-quality reference photos drastically improved my work and I was inspired to study photography in college from this experience.

I also hold a Master’s Degree in Library Science, which shaped my appreciation for preservation and the importance of creating work that endures. Throughout my career—including years supporting NASA—I’ve been recognized for my commitment to exceptional service, something I bring to every client experience.
