She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. – Proverbs 31:25
Graphite wedding portrait of bride looking over her shoulder by Annie Dash Studios

“Liesl as a Bride”, 9×12″, graphite on Bristol paper by Annie Dash based on a photograph by Anaya Photography

My beautiful and accomplished sister-in-law, Liesl, and her loving husband, Matthew, were married on a fresh spring day in April 2022. Liesl was a stunning bride, and I just completed this graphite portrait from a wedding photo as a special gift for her parents.

When her brother, my husband, Andrew, and I were married in 2007, Liesl was a junior bridesmaid in our wedding, and at the time, I drew a graphite portrait of her in a similar pose to the one above. Both pieces were created with love to celebrate Liesl’s unique joy, beauty, and light.

I loved capturing Liesl’s countenance and radiant happiness in this bridal portrait. She is kind, generous, brilliant, and full of life. It is such a privilege for me to create authentic portraits that reflect not only how people look, but the essence of who they are.

I hope my in-laws enjoy this piece in great health for many years to come, and I wish all the very best to Liesl and Matthew for a happy and holy marriage!
